Mother Ganga & Bhagwaan Shiv

Mother Ganga flows and Bhagwaan Shiv resides at our Sanctuary

Har Har Gange! Melodious, fortunate, eternally pure… Mother Ganga that first finds mention in the Rig Veda has been called this and more. She may start from the glaciers in the Himalayas but today she has found its way down under. Five thousand miles away from India in the lush Melville Forest in the heart of Australia, Ganga ji resides.

Before we take you on this fascinating journey, let’s first take a closer look at the holy river. Did you know that as per vedic shastras, waters of Ganges or Gangajal when added to any water turn that water into Gangajal? Also, unlike normal water that stagnates and turns putrid when kept still/contained for a very long period of time, Gangajal remains as is, no matter how long its kept.

So, how did Ganga reach here? “We were fortunate that Guru ji was travelling through. At Brahm Muhurat, with vedic chants, gangajal was poured into the Ashram lake turning it into Mata Ganga and a crystal shivling was also consecrated on the auspicious Brahm Muhurat of Shivratri,” shared Simran Kaur, a sadhika at the Ashram Sanctuary.

Reverberating with positivity, Simran and other sadhaks don’t miss an opportunity to help all beings around them. They even organise desi gau puja ceremonies for propitiating ancestors for getting rid of the pitra dosh.

Whether you come to the Ashram Sanctuary for a healing hug or to immerse yourself in a potent Vedic experience of yagya, gau puja, ganga snan and mantras, one thing is certain, it will be a life changing experience taking you back to your vedic roots.
